Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka, is a dynamic coastal city that combines contemporary infrastructure with historical charm. As the country’s primary business and transportation hub, Colombo provides visitors with convenient access to hotels, restaurants, shopping centers, cultural attractions, and recreational activities. Popular attractions in and around Colombo include the historic Gangaramaya Temple, Galle Face Green, Independence Square, the Colombo National Museum, and the scenic Beira Lake area. Visitors may also explore nearby beaches, wildlife parks, and UNESCO World Heritage sites located within convenient travel distance from the city.

About Venue

ICFS² 2026 will be hosted at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The venue offers a modern academic environment equipped with advanced lecture halls, laboratories, and conference facilities, providing an ideal setting for academic discussions, networking, and collaborative research. Conveniently situated within the Colombo metropolitan region, the campus is easily accessible from major transportation hubs and nearby accommodations.

Getting There

The Faculty of Engineering, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, is located in Mattegoda, Sri Lanka, approximately 4 km from the Makumbura Multimodal Transport Hub, one of the country’s major transportation centers. The venue is conveniently accessible via the Southern Expressway and Colombo suburban road network, providing easy connectivity for both local and international participants.

Participants arriving through Bandaranaike International Airport can reach the venue by taxi, airport shuttle, or private transportation within approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic conditions. For those traveling from Colombo city, the campus can be reached via the High-Level Road and Kottawa–Malabe Road network.

The nearby Makumbura Multimodal Transport Hub offers convenient access to intercity buses, public transportation services, and expressway connections linking Colombo with major cities across Sri Lanka. Ride-hailing services and taxis are also widely available in the area, ensuring convenient travel to and from the conference venue.
